IN A FINE SPIN

The late night slot will be filled by season two of this HBO comedy, which is also one I enjoyed.
The central character is known simply as The Guy (played by series creator Ben Sinclair), and he cruises New York City delivering weed to his clients in a series of crazy stories. In the season premiere, The Guy has a busier-thanusual day as New Yorkers react to world-changing news.
High Maintenance is also a web series, and HBO has renewed for a third season. (Keeley Hawes) decides Leslie (Callum Woodhouse) has too many girlfriends but her attempts to reduce this number are thwarted as the rest of the family each like different ones, and invite them all for tea at the same time.
Seasons one and two are available on Showmax, with season two due to air soon. Durrell was a naturalist, zookeeper, conservationist, author and television presenter, and a contemporary and close friend of David Attenborough.
Harrow (M-Net 101, Thursday at 11pm): The Australian origins of this new crime drama series would usually put me off, but – and it’s a fairly large one – it comes from Hoodlum Entertainment which also produced the excellent Secrets & Lies (far superior to the US remake), and it stars Ioan Gruffud (Fantastic Four). He plays Dr Daniel Harrow, a forensic pathologist with a total disregard for authority but an unfailing empathy for the dead which helps him solve even the most bizarre of cases. Says Gruffud of his role in the 10-episode series: “He’s got elements of ‘House,’ he’s a bit curmudgeonly. The cadence in Stephen M Irwin’s writing – from the gallows humour when we are over the body, and the chemistry with my assistant and the other pathologist – that’s a joy, to be able to go from a very serious dramatic and emotional moment to a comedic moment in the next sentence. “But you always believe this is how they would talk to each other.”
