A GRIEVING Gugulethu family says it has been stripped of its only breadwinner after mother of three Vuyokazi Ntloko’s body was found in Kleinvlei at the weekend.

The body of the 38-year-old who worked for a Parow catering company was reportedly found a day after the celebrations of Women’s Day.

She had been stripped naked and all her valuables taken.

The Pink Ladies reported that a murder docket was opened at Kleinvlei Saps.

Ntloko had been reported missing on Tuesday after she had left work in Parow.

She had separated from her colleagues in Bellville when she indicated that she needed to go and do some shopping.

That was the last time they heard from her.

A close family friend, Mfundo Marasi, told the Cape Times he was called by the family on Friday informing him that Ntloko’s body had been found.

“Since Wednesday we have been searching for her and making people aware that we were looking for her.

“We had hoped we would find her safe and unharmed like many other people who have gone missing. We made some phone calls to hospitals.

“Tygerberg Hospital confirmed there was the unidentified body of a woman.

“The family went to identify her and although her body was damaged they were able to confirm it’s her,” he said.

“We don’t know if her body was found and sent to the hospital on Friday or if it was found on Thursday. We still need answers.

“We also know she knew no one at Kuils River or Kleinvlei. All valuables were gone. She was found naked and had marks on her body but we are not sure if she was sexually assaulted,” said Marasi.

He described his close friend as a kind person who was approachable and always put her family first.

The family said they were waiting for the post-mortem report.

They said they had no means to bury her as she was the sole provider.

For Ntloko’s colleagues, going to work yesterday proved difficult as it was their first day there since hearing the news.

Human resources manager at Feedem Catering Services company Karen Long said: “On Wednesday she didn’t arrive for work or even report that she was not coming in.

“As someone who was always at work, this stood out for her employer and an alert was raised.

“Her death came as a huge shock to everyone – we are deeply saddened by this senseless murder. This is still very raw for all of us.

“We pray for an answer and justice for her as she was someone’s mother, sister. Genderbased violence just seems to just be an endless cycle and it’s frightening,” said Long.

Ntloko worked for the company since 2011 as a cashier then last October was promoted to supervisor.

“It was an honour to have her as she was one of the best, and well loved by our clients. We will dearly miss her welcoming smile.

“She was a hard worker, dedicated and loyal to the company.”
