Cape Times

NEWSROOM NOTE

-

IT’S BEEN an exciting week indeed, taking into consideration our readers’ views on the new-look Cape Times.

Thank you so much for the interaction.

From an editorial point of view, our business has not changed.

Journalism and a passion for people continue to dominate the newsroom, and our journalists have, and will continue to write stories that matter.

Topics relating to education, health, crime, policy, and everything else that makes our South Africa so unique and special will always have a space in the Cape Times.

At the same time if there is an issue you feel we are not getting around to, do let us know.

Reporters have enjoyed adapting to seeing their stories – the same stories that would have appeared in the “old Cape Times” – appear in a different format.

Editor Aneez Salie this week asked reporters to share their thoughts and feelings on the new design, and there was an overwhelming agreement that it’s beneficial to readers, and storytelling.

Reporters said the paper feels more modern, sleek, but still packs a punch with its content.

Other notable favourites the Cape Times has kept is a place for the weather graph, which many of you have so much interest in.

Cape Town, a major world city, recently ran the risk of running out of water, and therefore our weather documents major dam levels daily.

We have also simplified the layout of the national news, world news, opinions, and lifestyle for you on to respective single pages.

Thank you for keeping us on our toes, and do continue your interaction with us by sending us your views.
