that has been involved in a number of prestigious development in KwaZulu-Natal, including the Sibaya Coastal Precinct.

Nathan Iyer, the director of Iyer Urban Design, said yesterday that the development would have 397 units, including 12 penthouses; four levels of shared office space; a delicatessen and coffee bar on the ground level; a whisky and cigar lounge on the roof; and a wide range of shared facilities on the 15th floor, including a wellness centre, sauna and fully equipped gymnasium.

Stefan Botha, director of Rainmaker Marketing, said sales of the units would be launched online on November 17, with construction scheduled to commence in the first quarter of next year and the development taking 25 months to complete.

Botha said Rainmaker Marketing had pioneered online launches for a development in Durban last year, with R80 million in pre-sales being done in 42 seconds. He said Saxony Sandton would be one of the tallest buildings in Sandton, because of the typography, although it would not be the highest building in terms of storeys.

Botha said a 90m² two-bedroom unit would cost about R3.2m, while the most expensive penthouse, which was 261m² in size would cost R18m.

He added that each penthouse had its own private pool while those at the corner had an outdoor entertainment area and a private pool.

Rajan Naidoo, the chief executive of Saxony Developments, said there would be four sales phases, but the construction of the building would not be phased.
