WHAT’S ON FRANCE VS BOKS

-

THE Springboks will meet a group of familiar foes when they clash with France in a Test in Paris on Saturday.

It will be the Boks’ second match on tour after Rassie Erasmus’ men went down 12-11 to England at Twickenham last weekend.

No less than 14 of the French players who were part of the France matchday squad at the same time a year ago are back to take on the Boks this weekend.

The whole tight-five from November 18 last year – front row forwards Jefferson Poirot, Rabah Slimani and Guilhem Guirado and locks Paul Gabrillagues and Sebastien Vahaamahina – are part of this November’s 31-man squad picked by coach Jacques Brunel.

Also, the halfback pairing from a year ago is likely to be the same this weekend with Antoine Dupont and No 10 Anthony Belleau expected to face Erasmus’ team.

The Boks edged France 18-17 in their meeting last November.

Key players who are unavailable for the French at the moment, because of injury, include Bernard le Roux, Wesley Fofana, Morgan Parra, Remi Lamerat and Uini Antonio.

Saturday’s match kicks off at 10pm SA time.
