The Brazilians move up to second after convincing win against Leopards at Loftus

Mamelodi Sundowns (1)3 Maboe 41, Masia OG 54, Nascimento PEN 85 Black Leopards (0)0

MAMELODI SUNDOWNS huffed, puffed and somehow still had enough oxygen to blow Black Leopards away to move up to second place on the PSL standings at Loftus yesterday. Sundowns now trail log-leaders Wits by just three points with two games in hand. Lebohang Maboe put Sundowns ahead from a move that was started by captain fantastic Hompho Kekana.

The pressure from the hosts then saw Isaac Masia put Maboe’s cross into his own goal. Pentjie Zulu unwittingly handled the ball in his box in the second half, clearly tired and frustrated from being made to chase shadows. Ricardo Nascimento stepped up to take the penalty and sealed a convincing win for Sundowns.
