PUPILS from Intshayelelo Primary School in Ilitha Park in Khayelitsha and Mokone Primary School in Langa were donated with school shoes this week.

The donation of 2 000 pairs of shoes in the Western Cape was made by Clover Krush Goodness crew and TV presenter Lalla Hiramiya when they visited schools.

The initiative is a part of the Krush Goodness project that is set to donate brand new pair of school shoes to disadvantaged children across South Africa. The project has already distributed 19 000 pairs of shoes.

The aim is to help the children in order to uplift the entire community.

The campaign, in partnership with Novita Smart Steps and the Department of Education, was launched in March 2018 to spread a little goodness across South Africa.

Krush Goodness has engaged with various celebrities over the past weeks visiting schools across South Africa to distribute school shoes.

The project is set to donate 20 000 pairs of school shoes this year.

“Children are our most valuable resources. They are not things to be moulded but people to be unfolded.

“Many of our children are victims of injustice and aren’t able to fight for what should already be theirs.

“Love, education, food, clothing, warmth and educational resources, as well as health resources, are not always readily available,” said Hiramiya.

“I’m lucky to say that this is my second time being part of the Clover Krush Goodness Krew. It is a real honour. In 2018, upon launching the project, Krush set out to show that adding a little bit of goodness every day has the power to change the world for the better,” she said.

The campaign has been hailed a success as it has spread beyond schools and into the communities as well.

“These are our future leaders and workforce. What will become of our country, will ultimately rest on them?

“It is all of our responsibility to help where we can to ensure they have what they need to grow into empathetic, intelligent and well-rounded adults maximising their potential.

“They are our flag bearers, being able to give school shoes to a child that has none can make a big impact on the way they feel about going to school and giving 100% in the class,” said Hiramiya.
