JSE-listed investment holding company Sabvest has concluded agreements to acquire a 30 percent interest in Revix UK, Revix Technologies and their associated companies for an undisclosed amount.

Sabvest said yesterday that according to its investment policy this was a voluntary announcement as the size of the transaction did not exceed the 10 percent categorisation threshold requiring a category 2 announcement to be released on Sens.

Revix, founded last year by Louis Buys and Sean Saunders, has developed a new-generation digital asset management portal through which it provides digital asset technology services focused primarily on bundled cryptocurrency and security token investment solutions.

Sabvest said it was investing alongside the co-founders of Revix.

The founders have a pedigree in the industry with Buys having completed a degree in engineering, computer science and cryptography and he has extensive experience in programming and mobile payment systems and has built several start-up businesses.

“Sanders is a Business Science honours graduate and chartered financial analyst (CFA) charterholder with particular expertise in the exchangetraded fund (ETF) industry and technology centric portfolio management,” the group said.

Sabvest chief executive Chris Seabrooke said they were excited to have the opportunity to back these innovative financial technology (fintech) entrepreneurs in the fast-evolving digital asset industry.

“We believe their unique direct indexing enabled technology is able to facilitate more dynamic and efficient investing in this asset class internationally,” Seabrooke said.

Revix empowers investors to purchase and manage their own diversified index tracking portfolios through “direct indexing”, a method for replicating the performance of an index by purchasing the underlying assets instead of buying an ETF, structured financial product or diversified fund.

“Direct indexing is not a financial instrument.

“It is a technology which enables investors to instantly create, execute and manage several indices.”

The group added that this approach enabled investors to access simple investment tools to gain cost-effective exposure to more than 80 percent of the cryptocurrency market though the Revix Top 10 Crypto Bundle.
