The idea of the ying car is as old as the automobile itself but, unfortunately, the design requirements of an aircraft and a car result in many technology con icts and a compromised solution. A company called Cartivator is determined to build a new type of ying car that appears to be inspired by the popular drones. According to the company, the vehicle can carry one person, reach 100 km/h as a plane (150 km/h as a car) and y at an altitude of only 10 metres. Toyota sees promise in the concept and has given nancial backing to the rm. The goal is to have a ying car light the Olympic Torch in Tokyo in 2020.
