HIS MASTER’S CHOICE
With just three units, one of which is destined for Mr Pagani himself, the last Zonda is about as exclusive as they come
Officially, production of the Zonda ran from 1999 to 2011, but despite the focus having shifted to the even more formidable Huayra, a steady trickle of limited-edition examples of Horacio Pagani’s first production-series creation has continued to surface … until now. Pagani has commissioned the last-ever Zonda to mark the curtain falling on his milestone creation. The Zonda HP Barchetta sports a number of drag-cheating features, including a chopped windscreen, spats on the rear wheels, front canards and an air scoop similar to that of the five-unit-run Zonda Cinque. Power outputs for the Mercedes-amg-built 7,3-litre V12 engine have been withheld, but given its 500 kw application in the Zonda Roadster – not to mention the Barchetta’s 1 250 kg kerb weight – performance should be blistering.
