ELECTRIC ALL-ROUNDER

Following the success of its saloon stablemate, Porsche’s Taycan Cross Turismo is an all-electric all-rounder

-

The Taycan Cross Turismo boasts more than 1 200 litres of utility space when the rear seatbacks are folded.

With the flyline roof design, rear passengers are afforded an additional 36 mm of headroom.

Turismo-specific Trim for the wheel fore arches, and aft Cross lower aprons and side sills enhance this

Taycan’s all-rounder persona. The Offroad Design package, meanwhile, adds special flaps to the corners of the front and rear bumpers and ends of the sills.

Specially Cross buyers Turismo, a bespoke developed Porsche bicycle for the offers carrier Taycan which, according to the Stuttgartbased firm, sets the benchmark in terms of packaging and handling.

An innovative design feature of this item is the tailgate can be opened when the carrier is loaded (here with Porsche’s new ebikes).

Power output from the 800 V 93,4 kwh capacity battery system ranges from 280 kw for the entry-level Taycan 4 Cross Turismo to 460 kw for the flagship derivative. Activate launch control and the overboost function increases the standard figures for a brief period.

For the Turbo S Cross Turismo, this results in an additional 100 kw.

All derivatives four Taycan are Cross equipped Turismo with all-wheel drive and adaptive air suspension as standard. Included in the package is a gravel mode, which enhances off-road drivability. Specify the off-road package and ground clearance is increased by up to 30 mm.

Based on the French carmaker’s EMP2 platform, the striking bodywork of the third-generation 308 is

11 mm longer and 20 mm lower than its forebear. Peugeot says the new 308’s dimensions lend it a sleeker silhouette and more powerful stance. Thanks to the increase in wheelbase length (up by 55 mm), the 308 now offers more room for rear passengers. The new 308 has a luggage capacity of 412 litres with an additional 28 litres of stowage space in the hidden floor compartment. Utility space is rated at 1 323 litres.

The flagship variant is equipped with Matrix LED headlamps, replete with vertically arranged LED daytime-running lights. The LED taillamp clusters, meanwhile, feature Peugeot’s signature claw-effect motif. Sited behind the carmaker’s new logo on the front grille are radars for the driverassistance systems.

Peugeot’s latest 3D-enabled 10-inch i-cockpit and configurable digital instruments, and centrally sited touchscreen of similar size are found inside. The small angular steering wheel is now fitted with sensors to detect the driver’s grip levels when using the driving aids. Eight-colour ambient lighting is included with the top-spec variant, as are wireless smartphone mirroring and a 690 W 10-speaker Focul surround sound system.

Revealed in plug-in hybrid guise, the 308 Hybrid 225 E-EAT8 combines a 132 kw petrol engine and 81 kw electric motor. The lesser hybrid model – the Hybrid 180 – features a similar motor but is coupled with an engine producing 110 kw. A

96 kw 1,2-litre turbo-triple petrol and 1,5-litre turbodiesel with similar power outputs are also on offer.
