The WELL-CURATED LIFE of Chantel Dartnall

The celebrated chef of Restaurant Mosaic shares her essentials in and out of the kitchen

-

1. The hotel everyone should visit is... The Raffles Hotel in Singapore. 2. The cookbook every kitchen needs is… Larousse Gastronomique by Prosper Montagné. It was also my first serious book about cooking that I got from my parents for my 16th birthday. 3. My favourite interior designer is… David Muirhead of Fine Living. We have been working together to create the interior of our Belle Epoque Champagne Lounge as part of Restaurant Mosaic’s 10-year celebrations. 4. The Instagram account everyone should be following is... @thebestchefsoftheworld. 5. The scent I can’t live without is… Estee Lauder Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia – it smells of exotic flowers on a warm summer’s night breeze. I stock up on it every time I’m in Paris. 6. If I could own one thing it would be... The Lalique ‘Fairy’ Vase. The enchanting, magical fairies, whose frosted wings beautifully contrast with the clear glass, are an open invitation to the imagination. 7. The most inspiring artist is… Gustav Klimt. He was one of the artists that truly captured the essence of femininity. 8. No kitchen is complete without… A Kitchenaid. My newest addition is a gorgeous purple model. 9. If I could have a drink with anyone it would be... A glass of Champagne with Audrey Hepburn.

10. The coolest ingredient everyone should be using right now is… Hibiscus flowers. I’m obsessed with edible flowers. 11. My favourite building is… Angkor Wat in Cambodia. 12. The one thing that will never go out of style is… Our 1935 Rollsroyce Phantom. It’s such a great treat taking the old lady out for a ride.
