Job scandal under review

-

Last week four women told the Saturday Dispatch their horror stories on how senior managers demanded sexual favours for jobs.

Provincial government spokeswoman Mandisa Titi said the Office of the Directorin the province had been following the media articles on allegations of nepotism and sexual harassment in the provincial administration with concern.

Titi said that, while there was “no record of such allegations having ever been reported”, the administration would investigate the allegations.

The team is expected to start its work on Tuesday and will be headed by Ngaka Mosehana, the head of thedepartment for safety and liaison.

She will be assisted by Advocate Zoleka Fanana from the Office of the Premier; Zolisa Loni, department of education; Dr Sjekula Mbanga, department of human settlements; and Reverend Canon Lulama Ntshingwa, Religious Fraternity and chairman of the Eastern Cape Men’s Sector.

“This team will provide an opportunity for the affected employees to come forward to present and substantiate their allegations. This window of opportunity will begin on Tuesday, June 17 2014 and run until 2014.”

Titi said both the alleged perpetrators and alleged victims would not be victimised as a result of their participation in the process.
