THE Monster Energy Super GP Champions Trophy fourth round starts in East London today as some of the best Superbike riders from across the country compete.

This is the new format of the National Motorcycle Championship and this round is known as the Buffalo City Super GP.

The Superbike action is set to be fought out over two days. Today will see the practice session and qualifying and tomorrow will be race day atthe East London Grand Prix Track.

Current series leader Clint Seller will enter the event as hot favourite having triumphed in five of the six races over the first three rounds.

Seller won the first two races in round one at Bhakisa back in March. In April at Red Star, Seller won the first race before crashing out of the second, injuring his shoulder in the process, allowing Brent Harran to take the win.

He recovered to win both races in round three at The Western Province Motor Club at Killarney, and was closely followed by Harran in both races.

He tops the standings on 125 points, 14 ahead of Harran in second with Lance Isaacs in third on 92 points.

Speeds of up to 290km can be reached when going through Potters Pass and Rifle Bend.

The action will start at 8.30am today and and finish around 4pm this afternoon.

Tomorrow’s action will commence at 8.30am and the awards ceremony is scheduled for 3.50pm.
