THE discipline of Chippa United players on the pitch during the game seems to have improved as they have stayed away from the referees bad books in five league games.

Within just seven league games the Bay club were already on their fourth red card, with the most recent suspension being that of Thamsanqa Sangweni during the Telkom Knockout game.

Chippa’s central midfielder, Joseph Molangoane, has already served two suspensions this season.

Molangoane’s first booking was against Kaizer Chiefs in the league opener, with his second coming against Platinum Stars.

Another Chilli Boys player booked was central defender Ugonna Uzochukwu during the Orlando Pirates game.

All the players have served their suspensions and are available for selection.

Chippa management organised a workshop for their players which was conducted by former PSL referee Buyile Gqubule to try and deal with the issue of discipline.

Chilli Boys coach Roger Sikhakhane believes the workshop has helped his players stay away from the suspension list.

“After the session we had with Gqubule, we played against Martizburg United and not a single player received a yellow card,” said Sikhakhane.

The Chilli Boys’ next league match is against Jomo Cosmos at Olen Park Stadium in Potchefstroom on November 22.
