‘Coke Studio’ makes return

LAST year a new music reality show hit Mzansi and opened the door for up-andcoming artists to present their craft to the world.

After its major success‚ the folks over at Coke made sure that there would be a round two.

Coke Studio Season 2 launches on e.tv tomorrow and if you’ve already got plans for 6.05pm then best you cancel them.

Why? Well‚ because here’s your chance to see how musicians from around Africa collaborat­e to make hits.

Here’s everything you need to know about Coke Studio Season 2:

Over the course of 13 weeks artists from around Africa will come together to produce brand new music. The catch? They have 48 hours to write‚ produce and perform their music.

So you’ve got different musicians from around Africa‚ who slay in different genres‚ and who may not have even met each other, never mind know each other’s music‚ creating musical masterpiec­es.

Coke studio puts together some of the hottest artists from not only Mzansi‚ but the continent.

The results are epic. From AKA‚ to Cassper Nyovest and Gigi Laymayne there’s no doubt that the show has attracted major star power.

At the launch of Coke Studio Season 2 it was announced that AKA’s collaborat­ion with Patorankin­g would be further developed into a music video.

Host Nandi Madida and the Supa Mega confirmed the news‚ with AKA saying he was excited.

“Yes‚ it’s true. There will be a music video. We’ve already started working on it‚” he said. — TMG Entertainm­ent
