Hawks arrest two in cop killing case
TWO suspected cop killers were arrested by the Hawks and Tactical Response Team officers in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The men – who are alleged to have stabbed and killed Constable Johannes Putsoeli‚ 37‚ in Botshabelo in February – will appear before the Botshabelo Magistrate’s Court on Monday‚ where they will face charges of murder and robbery.
“Putsoeli’s body was found on an open field near Keizer Sebothelo Stadium in Botshabelo‚ with a stab wound to his upper body‚” a Hawks statement said.
“He was robbed of his service pistol and cellphone, as well as his wallet. The slain officer was stationed at Botshabelo Detective Services.”
Hawks head LieutenantMthandazo Ntlemeza said: “We shall not rest until every single suspect in the cases relating to the killing of police officers is brought to justice.” — TMG Digital
