Fans to finally see giants at war

- By ZINGISA MVUMVU

THE soccer match East London football lovers have been waiting for has finally arrived.

This as FC Buffalo lock horns with Future Tigers in an ABC Motsepe League East London derby at 3pm this afternoon at the Jan Smuts Stadium.

The two giants are still undefeated in the ongoing 2016-17 season.

Tigers have bagged all six points in the two matches played thus far, while Buffalo have collected maximum points in the single game they have played.

History favours Buffalo, who last season managed four points against Tigers, courtesy of a win and a draw.

Tigers will be out to end this hoodoo and chart a new path, especially as they currently are among the title contenders at second place on the log standings.

Elsewhere in the Motsepe League today, Walter Sisulu University (WSU) host Tornado at the university’s Ibika Campus in Butterworth.

The students will have to dig deep following their 1-0 loss to Lion City last weekend.

In Tornado they meet a side on a high after the Mdantsane team moered Matatiele Professionals by a convincing 3-1 margin.

Professionals will welcome Swartkops Valley’s United Brother at the Thandani Stadium in Matatiele – also today – while Mdantsane Mighty Bucks travel to Callies in Port Elizabeth.

Mighty Bucks, winless in two matches into the season, will be hoping to bounce back and announce their arrival into the second division with a victory.

Idutywa’s Matta Milan will be on the road to Young Ideas at the NU2 Stadium in Motherwell, to round off this weekend’s matches.
