Time studies resumed
STUDENTS at all our universities have made their call with #FeesMustFall and as responsible citizens we appeal to them to now return to class. The six weeks of protests across the country have disrupted lecture times. Some institutions are already postponing final exams, and students must ensure they complete their academic year.
They must also understand that every action they take can have bad consequences.
Among these is a lack of exam preparation, a huge loss of money for parents, a loss of bursaries for those selected by government departments and private companies. Those who fail will also find it very difficult to prepare for supplementary exams next year.
Students must also remember that we already have graduates struggling to get employment; and they will find themselves in a pool of unemployed, unemployable youth.
