Hit accused yet to apply for bail

FOUR men arrested for allegedly killing prominent businessman Wandile Bozwana execution-style are yet to apply for bail.

Sipho Dludla‚ Matamela Motapa‚ Bonginkosi Khumalo and Vusi Mathibela‚ a Pretoria businessman alleged to have recruited his three co-accused for the hit‚ appeared briefly before the Pretoria Prison Court at the Kgosi Mampuru II Prison yesterday.

Police made the four arrests between last November and July this year.

Bozwana died in hospital in October last year after he was ambushed by gunmen who unleashed a hail of bullets on his Renault Clio after he stopped at a traffic light on the N1 Garsfontein offramp.

In addition to a murder charge for allegedly killing Bozwana‚ the four are also facing one count of attempted murder.

Bozwana was with a woman, Mpho Baloyi, when he was killed.

The hit on Bozwana is widely believed to be connected to his court battles against the North West government. — TMG Digital
