80 hurt in bus collision
ABOUT 80 people sustained minor to moderate injuries yesterday morning when a bus rear-ended another bus on the Mangosuthu Highway in Umlazi‚ in KwaZulu-Natal.
ER24 said their paramedics, “along with various other services‚ arrived on the scene and found the two buses still wedged together on the side of the road”.
“Numerous occupants were found seated on the side of the road while some occupants were found climbing out of the vehicle‚” spokesman Russel Meiring said.
He said a triage area was set up and “paramedics found that approximately 80 people had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate”.
“Fortunately‚ no serious or fatal injuries were reported‚” Meiring said. — TMG Digital
