POPULAR DJs Sphectacula and Naves will be joining the star-studded line-up of artists entertaining the crowds at the Motsepe Foundation Christmas today.

The self-proclaimed “Kings of the Weekend” arrived in the city yest to perform at the Oh!Brigado Champagne Bar’s first birthday celebration.

Speaking with the Saturday Dispatch, the DJs said this was a buildup to the festive season.

The duo has entertained crowds from Johannesburg to Port Elizabeth and their brand continues to grow.

“I believe that we are a beacon of hope to other artists out there and that is why we try to give others an opportunity to grow as well,” said Sphectacular.

Sphectacula and Naves have made frequent visits to East London over the last couple of years, particularly during this time of the year.

“There are people like DJ Anda and Anele Mdoda who are always talking about East London and how great this place is. We decided to come here and create our own memories. The reception here is always greatc,” said Naves.

He said they could not wait to be a part of the Motsepe Foundation party today, which takes place at the Esplanade.

“You wouldn’t get this kind of lineup anywhere. It’s the country’s top 40 artists right now,” said Naves.

The free concert will feature the likes of AKA, Ricky Rick, Cassper Nyovest, DJ Tira, Babes Wodumo, Oskido, Professor, DJ Zinhle, Busiswa, Mafikizolo, Kwesta, Emtee, and Thembi as MC.

They said they would also be performing their new single, I do I do, featuring Port Elizabeth vocalist Zain SA.

The duo recently shot the music video for the song. The single is available on all digital stores.

Sphectacula and Naves will be making a return to East London later in December for the London Roots Party on December 26 at the Cambridge Police Park. — poliswap@dispatch.
