Basetsana on the road to recovery

-

WHILE reflecting on her lengthy journey to recovery from her ankle injury in March‚ media mogul Basetsana Kumalo showed fans just how bad her injury was.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday‚ Bassie shared a revealing collage made up of multiple snaps of her healing process.

From X-rays‚ to the stitches and images of her damaged foot‚ it looked really painful.

She has previously revealed that the accident‚ which occurred at her son’s school‚ left her needing a titanium plate and 11 screws in her ankle.

She returned for surgery three months later‚ when doctors removed four of the screws because they were causing her “unbearable pain” every time she “took a step”.

The Instagram post marked exactly eight months since the accident‚ which resulted in a “multiple fracture”.

She explained that the reason behind sharing her journey to recovery with fans was to “encourage” and “give hope to anyone battling a severe injury”.

“No matter how bad and in pain you are‚ you will get through it. Don’t lose heart‚ don’t give up‚ be patient‚ this too shall pass‚” she wrote.

“Some days are better than others. Some days my ankle is really painful. The pins/screws will never be taken out. The fracture was quite ‘spectacular’ and I don’t aim to live my life depicting that life is a bed of roses‚ always glammed up on red carpets. Trying times visit all of us … but they don’t stay!”

She also pointed out that the day her injury happened changed her life “for the better”.

“March 17th changed my life for the better! No regrets!” — TshisaLIVE
