New protector is no Thuli

-

WHAT a sad day for this country when our “President” sees our former Public Protector as his arch foe. Thuli Madonsela was doing her job – investigating and submitting proof of corruption.

If Jacob Zuma has nothing to fear, why not let the state capture matter run its course?

His claim of unfair treatment is surely to discredit Madonsela?

Never has this country had a president with so much baggage. One scandal follows another. We are a laughing stock among democratic countries. In a real democracy, a compromised president would step aside, or be asked to do so should he fail to do the right thing!

How arrogant to put oneself above the wellbeing of the country one is supposed to govern. What legacy does such a leader leave, except for controversy!

As for our new Public Protector, she is proving that she is not unbiased. She entered office making scathing remarks about her predecessor. And why not carry on with the state capture matter after the investigations took so much time and money? A red flag indeed! Who is pulling the strings of yet another puppet?

Zuma defending the Gupta family and wanting an investigation into the closure of their business bank accounts is another red flag!

For a man who professes to have nothing to hide, he is going to a lot of trouble trying to discredit Madonsela’s findings. Why?

Wake up South Africans, our country is no longer a democracy! This man should be removed from power before further damage is done. The country must come first and then the ANC, not the other way around! There are many good ANC candidates who could do a far better job of running this country! — Antoinette Hart-Kruger, via e-mail
