Cyril not answer for poor

-

I AM very concerned about what the workers of Cosatu are saying, that they want Cyril Ramaphosa to be the next president of the ANC.

This made me furious when I was the leading shop steward of Nehawu, Western Cape – workers were so concerned about neoliberal ANC issues.

Whoever is leading the ANC, their main aim seems to be to accumulate capital at the expense of the black working class. Whether it is the Jacob Zuma faction or another faction, all they want is to control the state so they can make super profits. Again many empty promises are going to be made by each faction so that their tenderpreneurs can make more money out of the working class, which is meanwhile expected to continue voting for this neoliberal ANC.

People must be made aware that it is a myth that they were liberated by the ANC and were, and are still, their own liberators.

If you google the National Development Plan (NDP) you will realise the ANC is neoliberal, favouring a market economy. Whether implemented by the ANC or DA, a market economy is not going to bear fruit for the black working class, but for political elites who have already accumulated capital through apartheid capitalism and BEE tenderpreneurs.

Already the Minister of Human Settlements has told South Africans that the government will no longer build houses for those under the age of 40. But who, living in South Africa today, has not been affected by apartheid capitalism? If someone was removed by force from District Six, his/her children and grandchildren were and are still affected. This minister is making the black working class non-relevant to the accumulation of capital in South Africa today.

I must remind workers, particularly mineworkers, that it is the very same Cyril Ramaphosa who urged that striking miners be treated by the police as criminals at Marikana.

My conclusion is still #ZumaMustFall, #RamaphosaMustFall and #NeoliberalANCMustFall. — Mhlobo Gunguluzi, via e-mail
