THE department of education is looking for 33 education development officers (EDOs) to monitor the performance and functionality of schools across 19 districts.

The EDOs will be assigned to schools in areas such as East London, KwaBhaca (formerly Mount Frere), Dutywa and King William’s Town.

Education department spokesman Malibongwe Mtima said the posts became vacant after a number of EDOs retired and some moved to other schools or higher positions within the department.
