Unfair application of law

-

IT’S so sad to see a man of the community being shut down by the BCM (Metro forces backyard mechanic to close shop, DD, March 15).

All thanks to a jealous neighbour. So BCM, how consistent are you in applying the bylaws in the metro? Mr Randall is an easy target. Do the same rules apply in Duncan Village, Spunzana and Mdantsane and other surrounding areas?

While no development has been taking place, such as building structures for entrepreneurs in our area, especially Buffalo Flats, the metro should be consistent in applying the law. While in Buffalo and Oxford streets illegal trade is rife; taxis operate at illegal, self-proclaimed taxi ranks and no law and order in Oxford and Fleet streets, poor Mr Randall is a victim of bullying tactics by the metro.

I wish a lawyer can assist him because the metro is not applying the law in a consistent and fair manner. — Burton Brown, Buffalo Flats
