MASSIVE Bodybuilding action is once again on the cards as the IFBB Buffalo City AllAfrica Arnold Classic Qualifier for 2017 comes to the Guild Theatre on Saturday night.

Over 100 bodybuilders from around the Eastern Cape will be out in force as they bid to qualify for the All-Africa Arnold Sports Challenge which will be held next month in Johannesburg.

“We are going to have the best athletes from the Eastern Cape as well as some top athletes from other provinces coming to take part in the qualifier,” event organiser and director of KM Sports Promotions Kaya Majeke said. “We expect this year’s event to be even better than last year, if you look at the calibre of the athletes who are going to be on show.”

There will be 26 divisions in total, 17 for the men and nine for the women, where everyone will battle it out on the night as they go all out for glory.

Total prize-money of R80 000 will be up for grabs for the competitors, with a R15 000 grand prize going to the overall winner on the night, while all division winners will receive a cash prize and a medal.

“There will be other entertainment on the night as well, so everyone who comes will definitely be getting their monies worth,” said Majeke.

The bodybuilding action begins with the weigh-in for athletes at the Guild on Friday night from 5pm-8pm.

A final weigh-in will then be held on Saturday morning from 8am-10am with pre-judging then getting under way straight afterwards.

The main event will then kick-off at 5.30pm for 6pm in the afternoon.

Entry for the athletes will be R250 and fans can get a ticket from the Guild Theatre for R100. For more information contact Majeke on 073232-3782 or Andrew Sokolich on 083-792-7430.
