ISAAC Booi Primary from Port Elizabeth are set to compete in the Danone Nations Cup U12 national soccer finals in Boksburg today.

The winning school out of the nine provinces will jet off to the United States in September to play in the world finals.

The games will be played at the WJ Clements Stadium at Reiger Park and all nine provincial contenders are vying for the national title.

Isaac Booi Primary team manager, Siphiwo Witbooi, said they are going to fight until the end, adding they have been preparing for this big day.

“This has been our goal to compete here and we have prepared the boys thoroughly.

“We upped our training strategy up a notch as we are competing against the best teams in the country,” he said.

Witbooi said his side will do everything they can to win because they have shown that in training.

“Since we made the national finals we decided to use a 3-3-1 strategy and the boys are comfortable with it.

“And that gives us [management] a sense of calmness as we are representing the Eastern Cape,” he added.

Pool A has Mmamitlwa Primary School from North West, Mophela Primary School from KwaZulu-Natal, Phaphama Public School from Free State, Idas Valley Primary School from the Western Cape and Haggai Independent School from Limpopo.

Pool B has Arcon Park Primary School from Gauteng, Isaac Booi Senior Primary School from Eastern Cape, Bankhara-Bodulong Intermediate School from Northern Cape, and Sekusile Primary School from Mpumalanga.
