South Africa started with eight new caps as recently appointed England-born coach Stuart Baxter experimented in the absence of unavailable first choices.

Zimbabwean Ovidy Karuru raised his goal tally to six from four matches by volleying a cross into the net in the 16th minute.

Another cross led to Swaziland levelling on 48 minutes as Felix Badenhorst, the 2016 Cosafa Cup leading scorer, nodded past George Chigova. Substitute Mutizwa connected with a corner at the near post after 77 minutes and his header flew into the net to give the “Warriors” victory. — AFP PREMIER women’s football continued over the weekend with teams scoring a total of 29 goals at their respective games.

In the coastal stream, Thunderbirds Ladies beat Sophakama Ladies 5-2 at WSU Ibika Campus in Butterworth.

Birmingham City was awarded soft points after Continental Express failed to pitch for the game scheduled at Duncan Village and they walked away with three points.

Golden Stars scored six goals against Manchester Babes, who only managed to rattle the net four times at Port Elizabeth College in a tough contest.

In the inland stream, Executive Ladies beat Golden City 4-0 at the Ntabankulu High School.

Red Roses Ladies thrashed Eastern Rangers 4-1 at Mount Frere Stadium.

Mthatha City was taught a lesson by Amanqilo Birds when Birds beat them 2-0 at home at Rotary Stadium in Mthatha.

Continental Express will play City Lads at Wolfsons Stadium in Port Elizabeth. Thunderbirds Ladies will play Birmingham City at WSU Ibika campus in Butterworth.

Sophakama Ladies will go up against Manchester Babes at Zwide Stadium in PE. All games will kick-off at 1pm. Birmingham chairman Vusi Khumalo said they were lucky to get soft points for the second time.

“We welcome the three points but it is putting us under pressure as we have last played on the 20th May and next week we are scheduled to play.

“Hopefully that fixture will help us to see how are the new players fitting in with the club before we travel to the log-leaders Thunderbirds,” he said.
