you that KFC believes in this programme. They are in it for the long haul, it is not a stopgap mechanism and I am not sure what motivates them to come into this programme but I believe that they have the future of our children at heart.”

Nenzani also explained the importance of the programme in terms of nurturing up-and-coming talent, teaching them the basics and getting them ready to play at a higher level.

“This programme is massive and what it does for CSA is it offers us opportunities to look at the talent that could be emerging,” said Nenzani.

“Therefore this programme is the bedrock of our talent identification and cricket development. We have launched a number of successes with this programme but still there are challenges we always need to be aware of, like the issue of access which remains key.”

With a whole host of other speakers taking the podium, giving the seminar report, outlining the CSA and KFC strategies, delivering the theme of the day and even having two young provincial players speak of their own experiences, it was a jam-packed day of information.

Border provincial mini-cricket coordinator Mnonopeli Mfenqe was thrilled with the day and claimed all their objectives had been reached.

“The delegates were the winners of today and everyone who was here enjoyed it.”
