EFF out of order on Israel

I CAN only shake my head at the ignorance of the EFF regarding Israel and the Bible during their picket outside the Israeli embassy on November 1. Has anyone studied the facts or do they simply follow an uninformed leader like lambs to the slaughter?

Stating that Israel today is not the Israel of the Bible is just plain stupid. In Genesis 12 Abraham is given Israel by the Lord who said that those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who curse her will be cursed. Nowhere in the Bible is this contradicted. As for supporting Palestine, imagine if Christians rammed people with vehicles, blew them up with bombs or stabbed or shot them while shouting, “Praise the Lord!”

Imagine building a tunnel under an UNRWA school with money donated to aid the Palestinians with construction. It's unthinkable.

The little sliver of land that is Israel has been bombarded by its neighbours since 1948. Jews have suffered the most horrific and continued antiSemitism over centuries, including the Holocaust for which the number of six million slaughtered is now believed by scientists and historians to be chronically underestimated.

Despite this Israel has in its short history turned a desert and a swamp into a first world economy and become a champion in the fields of science, technology, medicine and agriculture.

The hatred and jealousy directed towards Israel is hard to fathom.

I challenge the EFF to visit the “apartheid” state and Palestine for themselves and make an informed opinions before trying to shout the odds. — Judy van Aardt, via e-mail
