Parlotones, Prime Circle set to rock C Club crowd

-

The club kicked off its celebrations with a gig with Desmond and the Tutu’s last night. Prime Circle is set to usher in the long weekend at the club tomorrow alongside award-winning band Wonderboom, while The Parlotones will form part of the Gin Fest Summer that’ll be taking place at the club next Tuesday.

Prime Circle lead vocalist and guitarist Ross Learmouth said the band was bringing their latest offering If You Don’t You Never Will to the East London crowd. This is the band’s seventh album and their first new recording since their acclaimed 2014 release Let the Night In, which was repackaged as a deluxe edition in 2016.

The Chintsa gig is part of the band’s nation-wide tour for the latest album. The band has spent the past couple of years building its international profile, and has a solid footing in the German market. But Learmouth said although they had secured an international recording deal, South Africa would remain home for them.

“Our roots are firmly lodged in SA. That’s why we are giving local fans first dibs at hearing our new material.”

The band will be performing alongside local band Lazy Days before jetting off to the Wild Coast Sun near Port Edward to wrap up the Eastern Cape leg of their Summertones tour.

C Club manager Jason Gladwin said the events were for East Londoners to enjoy cocktails, good music, and some fun in the sun. —
