Chippa seek full points in the PSL

CHIPPA United are looking to start the second half of the Absa Premiership season on a high and cement their position in the top eight when they take on AmaZulu FC at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban at 3.30pm tomorrow.

The Port Elizabeth-based outfit ended the first half of the season on the wrong foot after a 1-0 loss to Free State Stars at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium last month.

They will be hoping to unleash their newly attained strength in the midfield as they take on Usuthu.

The Durban-based team has been blowing hot and cold this season with only three wins so far.

They are in 12th position with 15 points after 13 games.

Chippa United head coach Teboho Moloi said they will be gunning for three points when they take on the KwaZulu-Natal-based team.

“We will not be underestimating AmaZulu but we want to make our intentions clear from the onset of this round that we mean business,” Moloi said.

“If we can win the next nine games we will be guaranteed to be among the top three teams at the end of the season.”

Chippa United’s executive chairman Siviwe “Chippa” Mpengesi emphasised the team’s vision of starting the second half of the season strongly with the hopes of finishing in the top three.

“We are one of the fastest growing football brands in the country and finishing in the top three of the Absa Premiership would be a big thing for us,” Mpengesi said.

“There is a lot of vibrancy and hunger from the players that has been motivating to watch,” he added
