Activist a serial provocateur

-

THE article “Support urged for jailed activist” by Nashira Davids refers. So, who is the 16-year-old Palestinian girl, Ahed Tamimi, that ANC MP Mandla Mandela has called for to be released by Israel.

Ahed Tamimi, is a serial provocateur, the daughter of a family well-known for anti-Israeli activities. Her father, Bassem Tamimi, is well-documented for helping to spread blood libel against Israel.

He says his daughter has taken part in all the antiIsraeli activities in Nabi Saleh village since she was four years old.

The village has been a focal point for riots for years and the Tamimi clan runs a news agency, Tamimi Press, that focuses on documenting the riots. The “family business” is a setup. Riots are instigated, the IDF arrives to restore calm, cameras to roll and then Ahed approaches Israeli Defence Force soldiers, shouting and striking at them.

In the latest case she’s charged with also throwing rocks at them. The video footage is there for all to see.

In 2016 she toured South Africa with another Palestinian girl, Janna Jihad, 11, to speak about “apartheid” Israel.

Libelous accusations have been made against Jews through history. Today the Jew is Israel, and children are instruments in an open-ended drama of hate against Jewish people.

This practice survives when fuelled by the likes of Mandla Mandela. Himself no stranger to the criminal court, Mandla is hardly one to judge when an accused like Ahed Tamimi should be released. — David Kaplan, via e-mail
