Honest, helpful and caring

-

I WOULD like to express my thanks to the management and staff of Wakaberry, Nahoon. On Tuesday, April 3, my husband and I took our children to the shop for a frozen yogurt at 4pm.

We were in a hurry and left quickly. The next morning, at about 8.30, I realised my handbag was missing and wondered if I had forgotten it at Wakaberry the previous afternoon.

I immediately drove there but it was not yet open. However, Thando Fana, the manager, was very friendly and opened the door. I explained my situation and he took my number and said as soon as the staff arrived, he would give me a call.

I asked two of my friends to start praying with me for my purple leather bag, a gift from my husband with my life inside – wallet with all my credit cards and other cards, driver’s licence and R200 cash. There was also an extra cellphone.

Thando called me at 9am. Lindokuhle Kheswa on the morning shift behind the Wakaberry counter had started looking everywhere. Then tucked away at the back she found my purple bag!

I was SO relieved and thankful, an answer to prayers! Everything was still inside – my wallet, cash and extra cellphone.

This was thanks to Philiswa Zozi, on the night shift, who had stored my handbag safely away overnight.

In a world filled with corruption and theft there is some still light shining brightly in this world! Thank you to the staff of Wakaberry Nahoon: to Thando, Lindokuhle and Philiswa, for being attentive, honest and caring. Bless you. — Saartjie van Dyk, via e-mail
