ANC KZN acts separatist

-

THE ANC national leadership must be firm in taking decisions. I’d like to request our national executive committee members to be decisive, including on the issue of instilling discipline in the ANC. The continued behaviour by some ANC members in KwaZulu-Natal and the failure by that leadership to deal with such issues is of growing concern to many of us.

The ANC in KZN defied the instruction by the national leaders not to wear ANC regalia if they wished to support former President Jacob Zuma in his Durban court appearance, but to rather do so their individual capacity.

Again, during the national working committee visit in their province hooliganism was displayed.

The continued disregard of party instructions, the continued singing in support of Zuma – who is no longer the party leader – Zuma’s silence and his failure to distance himself from the divisive behaviour of his supporters is equivalent to contravening the ANC constitution by bringing the name of the ANC into disrepute.

The leadership must tell KZN ANC members to refrain from behaving as if they are an organisation that exists separate to the ANC under President Cyril Ramaphosa.

And Zuma himself must be warned to refrain from singing and making comments that have tendencies to divide along tribal lines when he makes public appearances. — Thando Noel Witbooi, former Sasco and ANCYL member and current ANC member
