Premier League action continues this weekend

-

AFTER a highly successful East London Central LFA sanctioned Leeds United FC 40th Anniversary Youth Football Tournament, it is back to Premier League action this weekend at the North End Stadium.

Seagulls is currently the only side with a 100% winning record but it has been Scenery Park-based Premier League debutants Millan who are in second place on the log standings, unbeaten with two wins and a draw against defending champions Riverside.

Attention now shifts to tomorrow’s crunch main encounter between Star of India and Parkside United at 4pm. Star of India has had the better of Parkside United in their previous two league encounters prevailing by 2-1 and 3-0 winning margins. Their opponents will be a different proposition this time round even though they did not have a good start to their campaign. They are currently in ninth place with two draws and a defeat. George Campbell has taken over at Parkside United hoping to turn their fortunes around.

After a superb start in their debut Premier League season reaching the Premier Top 8 final, things have turned pear-shaped for Di Roma FC.

Despite featuring a number of starstudded players they are currently languishing in 10th place, yet to record a win. Team coach Antoraz Gamiet has vowed to end their slump starting tomorrow when they play Swaraj at 2.30pm. Fourth-placed Parkridge-based Swaraj have welcomed back the management services of Gerome Swaraj.

Fifth-placed Atlantic Spurs entertain table-toppers Seagulls at 1pm and Riverside play Napoli at 11.30am.

Brothers of Peace square off against high-riding Millan at 2pm today and Conquerors host Pride of India at 3.30pm.

Saints continued with their unbeaten run on Wednesday evening at the North End Stadium when they beat K-Way 2-1 to go top of the John Korkie-sponsored 1st Division league log standings. FC East London dropped down to second place after recording a 1-1 draw against Diaroma United and Imonti Christian Centre and Leeds United played out to a 3-3 draw.

Real Dukashe and Ngamla clash at 10.15am at North End Stadium tomorrow and East London Central LFA will host a full round of youth league fixtures today at North End Stadium (U10s and U12s) and at the Showgrounds where the U14s, U16s and U21s will be in action. —
