-

STAR of India moved to the top of the East London Central Local Football Association Premier league table after recording an emphatic 4-1 victory against Parkside United on Sunday at North End Stadium.

Inspired by a superb all-round performance from their flying wing Kanyiso Badi Stars were in the pound seats from the start and took the lead in the 16th minute when Heinrich Fritz tapped home from close-range after the United keeper failed to hold onto a rasping drive from Badi from outside the box.

Badi then turned from provider to goalscorer when he struck with a solo effort in the 32nd minute. Allistar Visagie netted the third goal in the 47th minute after running onto a defence-splitting pass from Ivandre Campbell. Parkside pulled one back in the 51st minute but it was Star of India who had the final say when substitute Ayanda Mxakato collected a superb cross from out wide from Kieron Carelse and drilled the ball into the back of the net.
