WWE Raw® – 2am on SS4 LIVE EAST London Central Local Football Association premier league fixtures at the North End Stadium produced a flurry of goals at the weekend.
Tabletoppers Star of India reaffirmed their title credentials with a workmanlike 2-1 win on Saturday against basement dwellers Conquerors. Stars veteran talisman Allistar Visagie proved to be the difference with a double strike on either side of halftime condemning Conquerors to another defeat in their disappointing league run to date.
Napoli were the weekend’s big winners after earning a hard-fought 3-2 win against prematch favourites Pride of India.
Parkside United also returned to winning ways as Sheldon Windvogel delivered another top-class performance inspiring the red brigade to a fine 3-1 win against Millan.
Windvogel struck twice and veteran striker Leroy Stuurman added the other in an invaluable win.
Undoubtedly the match of the weekend was an eight-goal thriller between Seagulls and DiRoma.
Seagulls welcomed back their highly rated coach Sheldon Marillier and were out of the starting blocks in a flash going three goals up at the hour mark courtesy of a double strike from the impressive Gershwin Oliver and a penalty converted by Anil Reddy.
DiRoma however staged a remarkable comeback. Led by the inspirational Angel Snyman who netted a superb brace Mawetu Williams levelled matters and when Ashwin Cox nudged the blues ahead it appeared as if their sensational comeback would earn them an unlikely comefrom-behind victory. It was however not to be as the green and whites secured a share of the spoils when the ever-reliable Bevlin Willard produced a clinical finish with five minutes remaining.
Defending champions Riverside set aside their season of woes when they snatched a 1-0 win against old rivals Atlantic Spurs courtesy of a second half strike from Sheldon Stevens.
FC East London moved to the top of the East London Central First Division logstanding after recording a hard-fought 2-1 win against K-Way and watching close rivals Saints surprisingly held to a 1-1 draw by league strugglers Central United.
Imonti Christian Centre enhanced their title prospects after beating Diaroma United 3-1 and Real Dukashe picked up their first win of the season after an exciting 3-2 win against Alphen Warriors. In their tie Leeds United beat Ngamla 2-0.
