Juan for the money

-

JUAN Two Three looks too speedy and too classy for his rivals in the Betting World Pinnacle Stakes over 1 200m at Fairview tomorrow.

Among champion trainer Alan Greeff’s handful of promising candidates the five-year-old son of Var seems to be the obvious bet.

Juan Two Three is a ninetime winner from 18 starts and was once again too good when he won his last race on April 20, defeating Le Grand Rouge by 2,25 lengths.

Juan Two Three, who will have regular pilot Greg Cheyne in the saddle, is also weighted to win the race easily. He looks a banker in all exotic bets.

The same was said of top filly Carlita last Friday, but Juan Two Three should recoup losses suffered by punters in a race in which Carlita ran way below her ability.

Tara Laing-trained Omega Onslaught can pop up in the places. He ran a good race last time when finishing 1,95 lengths behind Exelero over tomorrow’s distance.

Omega Onslaught lacked a finish with Bernard Fayd’Herbe up, but Chase Maujean can improve on that run for owner Etienne Braun.

Another Greeff runner, Carbon Offset, can also finish in the money with Kendall Minnie up.

The son of Gimmethegreenlight comes in carrying 2,5kg less than last time.

On that occasion he finished a decent third, 2,35 lengths behind Varsity Cup.

Carbon Offset was coughing after his last race and if he is in the mood this time he could be good value at 12-1.

Captain Alfredo, also from the Laing yard, cannot be overlooked. He has won eight of his 33 races and also has four second places and two third places to his credit.

Flight Captain, Lord Windermere and Dawnbreaker could all fight it out for money.

In the final analysis, Juan Two Three gets the vote to lead home Omega Onslaught, Carbon Offset and Captain Alfredo.

Juan Two Three also holds the class record of 68,36 seconds, which he set in 2016.

The first race, off at 12:00, is a Maiden Juvenile Plate for fillies over 1 000m. Justin Snaith-trained European Roller looks hard to beat with Aldo Domeyer in the irons.
