THE winter holidays officially started today, and keeping the kids occupied can be challenging.

But to help keep the boredom at bay during this three-week holiday, we have put together a “holiday guide”:

● Bubble Jungle indoor play centre in Beacon Bay has a jam-packed activity schedule for almost every day of the holiday.

The activities are suitable for three- to seven-year-olds.

Some of the activities that started yesterday and run until July 17 include sand art, cupcake decorating, marble and straw art, book dress-up days.

Most of the activities, except for book reading, which is free, cost R10 or R20 to participate.

There will also be a colouring-in competition, where the winners will receive a month’s free entry to the play centre.

The centre’s manager, Kirsten Roebuck, said the holiday activities, which are held every year, were always well-supported.

● For all aviation admirers, Border Aviation will be having an open day on June 30 at the Wings Park airfield from 9am until 5pm, at R40 per person.

Children under eight years can join the fun at no cost. reading and

● The Yellow Forest Market Day in Morgan Bay promises to be a lot of fun this weekend, with plenty of stalls, arts and crafts and general kids’ entertainment.

Those attending the market can also participate in a “dress up as a tree” competition.

There will also be a circus tomorrow.

● For the older children who enjoy adventure films, the science fiction movie about dinosaurs, Jurassic World – The Fallen Kingdom, is now showing at the Hemingways Cinema. The movie will also be screened at the Steve Biko Art Centre in King William’s Town.
