Two bankers at Fairview

- Dispatch Racing Editor

PUNTERS face a tricky card at Fairview tomorrow, but two horses stand out as possible bankers.

In Race 4, the second leg of the Pick 6, the Sharon Kotzen-trained Ingabangabonga should take a lot of beating, while Aldo Domeyer looks set for victory on Love Dove for the Alan Greeff yard in Race 8.

Ingabangabonga, formerly trained by Glen Kotzen in the Western Cape, ran a cracker of a race last time when finishing 1,50 lengths behind Incomodation over 1 900m.

On that occasion the daughter of Irish Flame was not striding out, but this time, with Louie Mxothwa aboard, she should set the record straight and bow out of the maidens.

Hither Green, Fifth Of May and Wahi are next best.

Love Dove, owned by Mauritzfontein (Pty) Ltd, is chasing a second career win and seems ready to strike from a No 6 draw.

She ran on late in her last start, over 1 200m, and the extra 200m tomorrow should be to her liking.

Love Dove is a one-time winner from 13 outings. That win came for trainer Brett Crawford in the Western Cape and, hopefully, she will score her first win for her new stable at the fifth time of asking.

Punters might have to go wide in the first leg of the Pick 6, where Icarus Flight, Counting Stars, Falcon Rock and Captain Marooned look set for strong support. But do not underestimate the chances of runners like Make It Count, Keanan’s Rock, San’s Dancer, Chestnut Wild and Aviemore.

Race 5, a Pinnacle Stakes over 2 000m, is the main event of the day.

Here the vote goes to the classy stayer My World, who will be ridden by Teaque Gould for the Tara Laing yard.

The former Candice BassRobinson charge has had two outings for his new stable and lost out both times by narrow margins.

It is a tricky race, but brave punters could opt for My World and Western Wu as their only runners in the exotics.

Western Wu won convincingly by 2,25 lengths last time and could be involved in a tight finish with My World.

Eleven newcomers from out of town will take to the Fairview track for the first time, testing punter’s luck all the way.

The first race of the day, a Maiden Plate for fillies and mares, is off at 13:10.
