Inspirational event for businesswomen

- MBALI TANANA mbalit@dispatch.co.za

The first Woman’s Round Table Business High Tea will be held at The Mustard in Vincent on Saturday.

The event, aimed at providing established and emerging businesswomen the opportunity of networking and talking about business, will be addressed by investment guru Thandi Mbete, founder and chief executive of Lingcinga Investments, a 100% black, female-owned company under the theme “Get out of your way to win”.

Mbete said she aimed to use her business, which specialises in strategy management consulting, leadership development, facilitation and investments, to educate, empower and inspire other women to gain better access to the resources necessary to jumpstart and further their business journey.

“The Woman’s Round Table Business High Tea is to give substance to those in the industry as well as those who are entering it and may not have first-hand access to the decision makers. This initiative is my passion and one I believe is a necessity for every woman whether in business or going about their life.”

Co-owner of Personal and Corporate wellness and selfpublished author Amandla Ludidi will share her book, I Learned to Pray which talks about her life and how she dealt with drug and alcohol abuse, a divorce, and a bad debt record.

“It is both humbling and inspiring to bring together the business of woman to woman. There are so many brilliant women in this town who just need a little nudge in the right direction and self-development and business is the starting point.”

Ntando Nhizar Mvume will also be giving makeup tutorials.

Event co-ordinator Sixolisiwe Ndawo said the event promised to inspire women.

“The day will also include a live performance by East London music sensation Sasa Jobodwana. As national woman's month is a time to reflect on progress made, this is a time for women to encourage and inspire one another.”

Tickets are available via Quicket at www.quicket.co.za and are R155 and R150 for aspiring exhibitors.
