The Man and Boy Foundation (MBF) will on Saturday host the first ever “Male Music Festival” in KwaBhaca, where only male artists will perform.

The main objective of this annual music festival is to mobilise male artists from different music genres across the country to unite against social ills such as genderbased violence. Women are also welcome to attend the event.

MBF director Nkululeko Nxesi said the festival will provide a platform for all male artists to denounce and fight social ills.

“Most importantly, male artists on an annual basis will participate in an event that raises awareness against social ills, including gender-based violence, substance abuse, crime, illegal traditional initiation and others.”

He said the inaugural festival will be at the Town Hall in KwaBhaca starting from 10am to 7pm. The entrance fee is R50.

“Artists will visit a children’s home in KwaBhaca before the beginning of the festival as part of mobilising male artists and men in general in supporting abused and vulnerable children,” said Nxesi.

This event is part of MBF’s activities in the buildup to the 16 days of activism against women and children abuse. Proceeds raised at the concert will be used in the fight against gender-based violence programmes.
