Aimed at aspiring poets and musicians, the Good Music At Last Volume 6 takes place this Saturday at the Mustard in Vincent.

Creative director Solomzi Mjayezi said: “We are in a continuous effort to empower the rich untapped live music talent we have in BCM.”

Good Music At Last has been running for six years and has featured prominent acts that are currently making waves in the music industry such as Msaki, Moonchild, and Yugen Blakrok, among others.

“We stand for love, music, diversity, art, equality, support and ubuntu, as under the belief that ‘an artist’s duty is to reflect the times’, bring about an inclusive dialogue to depolarise the mind of the youth, evoke the spark of love, acceptance and tolerance that will guarantee sustainable social cohesion and do away with all the uncertainties,” said Mjayezi.

Live performances at this year’s session will be by Vinnie Mak, SO Squared, Quekay, B’Ocean & OG Kush, World of Art, Faku OTD, D J Donz, Linch, The SIT_IN, Rice-ini, Blacksheep & SniperBeats.

Mjayezi said artists who perform at the Good Music At Last concert were picked from an array of festivals that take place in East London. The artists perform live and in front of potential producers.

Those interested in performing at the concert next year are invited to Art side Goods & Sound, which takes place every last Sunday of the month.

“We host this programme every last Sunday of the month in collaboration with Beachfront Lounge, where we scout for talent who later on qualify to perform at our main event (Good Music At Last), which exposes them to producers and business people interested in funding their music and arts careers.

“We invite festival and event organisers to come and see for themselves the untapped fresh talent,” said Mjayezi.

Tickets are available at R50 at Computicket as well as at the door on the day. The show starts at 6pm.
