Are the guys confident heading into the 2018 Khaya Majola Week in Cape Town?

I think the guys are in a positive frame of mind at the moment. I think going to Coke Week you always know it’s going to be a tough week with top quality players and top quality teams. But I think if we just stick to our guns and keep positive we will be in for a good week.

Two tough games in Western Province and Gauteng. Are you relishing that challenge?

I think the guys are keen. We always like a challenge, but the whole mindset for us is playing the game and not the name. So we are just going there in a positive frame of mind, sticking to what we know we can do and controlling the controllable.

Have the guys gelled well and is there a good team spirit in the team?

There is definitely a good team spirit. I think even from the first training session there was a good vibe in the camp. I mean quite a few of the guys have been playing with each other for a couple of years now, so I think we are more or less a team even though we come from different schools. So it has been good.

Any specific goals set for the week?

I think the main goal is to try and win Coke Week. But at the same time just accomplish the goal we set each day, take it one game at a time and don't look too far ahead.

Has the team covered all the bases?

I think so. The bowlers that have been selected are more than capable of doing the job on the day, as well as the batsmen, and I think we have quite a good, fit fielding side. But as I said it is all about sticking to the basics and keeping things simple and we should come out on top.

What is the team’s mindset you want the team to adopt?

The motivation and backing the person next to you is an important mindset. Also backing the oke to do a job and backing the team as a whole to win the game. So going into a game knowing that you can beat any opposition is the main mindset we are trying to set.
