Desks in danger

Icouldn’t help but smile when I read the “high gloss” Eastern Cape education report “Masiphathisane” [an insert with the DD, Feb 5]. It must have cost a packet to print the “brag list” on such expensive paper! And then I saw “OOPS!” the photo on page 3 [of this insert] where “among other things, the education budget provided education facilities such as desks for learners”. I do hope the budget includes fixing the ceiling before it collapses on to the new desks! Just saying.
