Princess Rebel entered for Computaform Sprint
PORT Elizabeth-based trainer Yvette Bremner has made Turffontein a happy hunting ground for her horses and she will be back, this time with the filly, Princess Rebel. Princess Rebel is among 21 entries for this year’s Computaform Sprint, to be run at Turffontein on May 4 for a stake of R1 million. This four-year-old daughter of Rebel King has raced 10 times for six wins, but ran a shocker in her last start when attempting a Grade 1 win in the Cape Flying Handicap at Kenilworth. However, Princess Rebel is drawn No 1 which has not been a great from which to start at Turffontein right now. She will be joined by Attenborough who will be back to defend his title. Joey Ramsden’s charge made the trip form Cape Town last year and, ridden by Richard Fourie, came from off the pace to beat Pinnacle Peak by one length. And we do know he is going to run as the son of Western Winter is already in Joburg and has had a run over the course and distance. That was in a Pinnacle Stakes on April 6 in which he finished a 1.30-length second to Trip To Heaven. Ramsden is clearly keen to keep a winning formula as he has also brought up Speedpoint, who finished third in last year’s race. If ever a sprinter deserves to win a Grade 1 race it has to be Trip To Heaven and Sean Tarry has entered this son of Trippi, along with up-and-coming star Chimichuri Run, Bull Valley and Exquisite Touch. Supplementary entries close at 0900 on Friday April 26 with declarations by 1100 on Monday April 29.
