Mdantsane football fans are in for a treat as a Chippa United reserve side are set to host Kaizer Chiefs reserves in a MultiChoice Diski Challenge Festival encounter at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in Mdantsane next Sunday (12pm).

But first, the Chilli Boys have to travel to Bloemfontein Celtics on Saturday.

Chilli Boys head of development Glen Minnie conceded they were going away to a strong side but he said they were looking forward to coming to East London and they were hoping to fill up the NU2 venue for the two-day soccer festival.

Next Saturday will see Stellenbosch FC reserves and Highlands Park reserves lock horns at 10am before Bloemfontein Celtic reserves go up against Orlando Pirates reserves at 12pm,

Then on Sunday, Mamelodi Sundowns reserves and Cape

Town City FC reserves will battle it our for three points, and the game between Chilli Boys and Amakhosi will follow at 12pm.

All games will be hosted at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium.

“Chiefs play an open game every time we meet them, they don’t just sit back. They’ve got young players full of energy.

“So I think it’s going to be an interesting game now, since we’ve picked up some points against bigger clubs, Sundowns, SuperSport United,” Minnie said.

“Those are the teams we lost to in the first round when we went away, and when they came to us we beat them.

“The confidence is high here and we have younger boys in the team who have just started coming through the ranks as well. So it’s exciting times at Chilli Boys.”

Minnie said by bringing their MDC games to East London they were trying to motivate the youth in this side of the province to work for their dreams.

“We don’t want to just give focus to PE only because we are supported across the Eastern Cape and not just around Port Elizabeth, places like Buffalo City Metro (BCM) areas are our support base.

“We want children to understand that playing at this level is also possible for them as well. But other than that we are excited to come to Mdantsane.

“It’s always been a good place with good support. We are also getting young boys in Mdantsane to be our ball boys and that will be good for the children.

“All those four games will be live so that will give these young children a bit of exposure.

“And we have been engaging BCM and they are playing a huge role which is getting us to the city. They are organising the fields, making sure that everything is up to the PSL standards, and other logistics like the police and local security companies for the festival.”
